What began as a birthday gift turned into a beautiful Scottish craft story. In 2016, Kristen Hunter received an old whisky barrel and was inspired to turn its oak staves — rich with character and history — into handcrafted picture frames. Some of these barrels have aged whisky for more than 80 years before beginning their second life as keepsakes for your home.
Today, Whisky Frames is a small team of skilled woodworkers in Scotland, creating rustic, sustainable frames that carry the spirit of the Highlands in every grain. Each piece tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and the simple joy of giving something made with heart.
At FLYKUP, we love how Whisky Frames captures that same feeling as a good fly cup — a moment to pause, connect, and hold on to what matters most.
Fun Fact: In 2019 Whisky Frames was featured on the British version of the US hit entrepreneur show “Shark Tank” called “Dragon’s Den”.
